Every year, a little neighborhood in Des Moines, Iowa, becomes engulfed in lights and decorations, turning into a Christmas wonderland. Cars come and wait in line for that turn to drive through the magical neighborhood. One couple, Julie and Dale Marks have also used the event as a way to collect food and donations for the Food Bank of Iowa collecting 1,500 pounds of food last year. When the Marks family got covid and could not decorate their house, the community came to the rescue with volunteers to help. Now their house lights up the whole street with 10,000 lights outside.
