'Pay what you can' haircuts, free school supplies are this hairdresser's way of giving back
As a new hairdresser, Amy Leah Douglas wanted to help her community through "pay what you can" haircuts. She either asked clients to pay what they could or to donate school supplies. Her goal was to gather school supplies to help parents that have to cut corners by skipping back-to-school haircuts and buying school supplies. Now that the week has passed, she plans to give the supplies to elementary schools around Fayette County.
