Seven years ago a parent asked Mrs. Parker where her family could find food over the break, so she decided to start an annual food drive to help students and their families who may struggle to find food. She knew there were probably many families who would struggle during the holidays, so she wanted to make their winter breaks a stress-free time. Over time, Parker's "foodraiser" gained so much support that they were eventually able to feed children within multiple schools with all the donations. This year, they were able to donate food to EVERY STUDENT at 12 Durham Public Schools for the winter break.
