Since the two best friends met in sixth grade, Marcos San Miguel and Jordan Sloan have been inseparable since. In September 2020, Sloan took a hit to the head during a game and was rushed to the hospital, where he was placed on a ventilator. The accident caused sustained brain-stem trauma, and ever since, he as been working on regaining his mobility and strength. In an effort to support his friend, San Miguel has been taking pledges for every charge he took in a basketball game. With this, he is donating the money necessary to buy items not covered by insurance, like a manual wheelchair and reformer machine to help Sloan's family. To date, he has raised $14,800.
