Dallas, TX – One of the great fronts in the culture wars of today is the relationship between Christians and the LGBTQ community. How do Christians reconcile the lifestyle decisions of friends, family and neighbors with their faith and the messages they find in the bible? Bill Henson has a helpful perspective on the topic and joins Pastor Jeff Jones on the Good Complex Podcast to talk about the issue.
So how can we reconcile a traditional perspective with an LGBTQ lifestyle? Bill begins the conversation with the assertion that LGBTQ people have been hurt very deeply by people of faith. Bill goes on to ask this simple question, ”Does someone with a traditional view have a better standing with God than someone who does not?”
There is certainly a belief gap to bridge, but that gap should not keep us from loving one another. So how can the gap be bridged? As Jeff and Bill discuss, it’s through tangible acts of love, care, inclusion, and protection. We are all called to love each other and not to weaponize our beliefs against each other.
