Books over borders: joy as bombed shop in Gaza reopens
Last year, Samir Mansour watched as his bookstore was destroyed by Israeli missiles coming into the Gaza Strip. After international fundraising efforts helped raise $250,000, Mansour was able to rebuild his store just 100 feet from its original location. In addition to the money, 150,000 books were donated to the new bookstore as well. Each book donated to the store has information from the original owner to pay tribute.
